Friday Fashion Fix: Living in…Sweater Pants!

Happy Friday! It’s been a whirl-wind couple of weeks over here. We packed up the kitties and as much stuff as we could fit into our checked luggage and headed south for the winter. I always imagined doing this at some point in my life— I just didn’t think it would be so soon! But we are still living in a Covid-19 world, and I couldn’t deal with the prospect of not seeing my mom for the foreseeable future, so here we are in Miami (my hometown) settling in and finding a winter routine. I could not be more grateful to have the ability/flexibility to do this, and don’t take a moment of it for granted.

I wanted to check-in to share my newest fashion obsession. I have been living in sweater/ knit pants for the last couple of months, both in NYC and now in Miami. They come in many of varieties- light acrylic blends, cable knit, cashmere, wool, etc., and can be worn very casually or dressed up. Whichever you choose, they are incredibly versatile, and as much as I love denim, there’s just something about stretchy, pull-on pants (particularly when I haven’t been in the gym in months)! Think of them as elevated sweats that can take you from lounging around the house to a night out (with a few style tweaks).

I’m styling here for warmer weather, but you can easily add booties, a chunky sweater and a warm coat for colder climates. You can find them at all price points— the ones I’m wearing here are from Zara and Target, so very wallet-friendly, but you can find super-lux versions like Suzie Kondi’s gorgeous cashmere high waist harem pants (she also does amazing terry and velour styles that are in constant rotation in my closet!). A quick Google search will turn up many options, and the styling possibilities are many!

Wishing everyone a warm and cozy weekend!
